    Day 4 - Paraguay

    Tuesday, February 24, 2009
    *Ring* : 9:00 am

Crossing the bridge over to Paraguay At the custom waiting for the driver to get the neccessary stamp to permit entry.
Here i am in PARAGUAY... how many Singaporeans can land themselves here?
    Looks like Bangkok street shopping
Soh Ling decided to get a kettle in this chinese shop.
Look the lady boss is a chinese from PRC.
While waiting for our flight, Dennis looking at those photos taken during this trip. Bye bye Parana River (aka 'like the Sea')
    -----------------------------------------------------------------
Somehow we felt being conned at the custom...

We were asked to pay the driver R$50.00 per person for the custom since we dont have an entry Visa.

After paying, the driver disappear into the immigration and returned 10mins later saying the customs request additional US$100 per person instead. Upon hearing this... I asked him to detour and bring us back to the hotel.

I can feel he seems a bit dissappointed and volunteer to negotiate with the custom officer again.

This time he return saying only additonal R$100 per person... Well, what to do??? Since we are already at the border and the whole group agrees to pay this amount!

    So,

Here i am... in an empty quarter of South America, a country that little is known about but famous for its duty free products, mostly imported from China... ranging from electrical appliances, clothes, perfume, counterfeit, contraband etc... you name it and they have it.

Whoa! 'Mountain People, Moutain Sea'... So many people on the streets... it looks to us that there are more sellers than buyers! USD and Reais are widely use when it comes to buying anything in the departmental stores or with the streets vendors.
